Sorry. . . we've been busy!

Ok so there really isn't any excuse as to why I haven't posted in a couple weeks but sorry none the less. I have taken up walking on the tread mill while he is napping so that cuts into my web surfing time but well worth the sacrifice. Anyways I didn't get to walk today (note the last picture) so I thought I would update you on what we have been doing. We have been getting pretty stir crazy with the cold weather and not being able to go outside. So we have been doing numerous crafts, playing with Grammy and Grandma & Papaw whenever we can. We even stole a couple minutes outside when the weather got warm (ha 40 is not warm). So read up and see what has been going on. . .

We have been doing crafts alot, Brady loves to get messy and the pictures he makes are wonderful and now hanging in his playroom. Yes is gets pretty messy but when he needs to have something to do constantly you deal with the mess.

I came downstairs the other day and couldn't find him, he had been playing in his playroom, I walked into the office and found him sitting at the computer. He told me " I just push the buttons mommy"

Grammy got him a green "snake" cookie the other day, he thought it was great to eat all the green icing and make his tongue green. He made everyone take a bite so that all of our tongues were green.

Outside Yea! We got to play outside the other day for about 30 minutes and it was wonderful. Our front yard doesn't get sun, hardly ever so the snow had not melted. So when it was 40 out I convinced our neighbor to bring out the kids and play in the snow. Brady was skeptical at first but warmed up quickly!

Brady and Grammy thought it would be fun to erase his chalk and marker board with their fingers then rub them on their noses, the end result a wonderfully black nose! Good thing it was bath night because we tried to just wipe it off and it only smeared and got worse!

We had some of our friends over on Friday, it is really neat to see all the kids together since there is exactly a year between each group. Brady is the oldest, then our friends John and Olivia had Madison and Raegan a year later, then our friends Hank and Erin had Julianne another year later. Brady loves playing with all of them but this time he wanted to share his jungle with Julianne, he was so super sweet with her, hopefully he will have a brother or sister of his own soon- no we aren't pregnant yet!

Happy Birthday Aunt Sarah and Grammy! We went up to Lafayette yesterday to celebrate Aunt Sarah and Grammy's birthday, Brady being from an IU family had to support his team up in Purdue (yuck) country! Below is the video in which Aunt Sarah and Grammy taught him how to blow bubbles in his drink at dinner-he is so stinkin cute how can you get mad?
And this is why I couldn't walk today. . . his room is directly across from the guest room where the treadmill is. Typically I shut his door and the door to the other room and all is good. Well I laid him down today and heard him up playing but didn't think much of it (he usually gets back in bed for his nap). I went up to walk only to find that he didn't make it to his bed today but thought that the floor would be a much better option! At least he is sleeping!

Stie Mania!

Brady got to spend almost the entire week before Christmas and some of the week after Christmas with his Aunt Stie (Kristie). We were very busy going to get Dots for her birthday, eating sticks from Hot Box, going to the Children's Museum and just hanging out. We are very lucky that Brady has such wonderful Aunts that think he is the best thing in the world, we love you Aunt Stie and YaYa (Sarah)! I promise we will have YaYa mania soon!
The Children's Museum was so crowded that it was making Brady cranky so we didn't stay for very long but he did get to go down the big slide all by himself-he thought he was pretty cool!

He thinks it gets too bright in the house so he feels that he should wear his sunglasses. Brady was having a great time having Stie push him around in circles on his truck!Once again Brady wanted to put on my boots and as soon as he had them on he told me "take a picture mommy". So of course I had to take a picture.

Feeling sad, about 3 days after Stie Mania, now he just had dumb old mom to play with:)

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all and well now almost a Happy New Year! I'm not super great at keeping up on posts but here is the one from christmas. Brady was fabulus, as always, seeing that we had 6 Christmas's in 2 days! Our Christmas kicks off with Brady spending the night at Grandma Patti's and Papaw Rick's. Patrick the elf comes to visit him there and he gets to have a special one on one christmas with them. It is great for Josh and I too since we get a night to ourselves and a chance to relax before the craziness begins. We pick Brady up on Christmas Eve and do christmas with Josh's parents, then off to my dad's for christmas there. Our Christmas Eve was finihed up by dinner with my mom and Christmas with her. Thanks to her for coming to our house so that Brady could go to bed. We celebrated Christmas morning with my sister Sarah then off to Josh's grandma's for more Christmas. We finished up Christmas day back at our house with my mom's side of the family. Man I am getting tired just typing all of what we did. Anyways Brady did excellent and really enjoyed seeing everyone! He loved his train table from Santa, we had a hard time getting him to open his other presents! He got so many wonderful gifts that he now has 2 rooms in the house just for his toys!

He got two tubs of playdough and wanted to sit on them, except he really wanted to sit on the little one not the big one!
Joe Cool in his Lightning McQueen slippers and sunglasses (he now wears his glasses in the house because it is bright)

Trying to speed along the putting together of his kitchen, by helping Papa, he was very patient!

The Thomas the Train table that Santa brought. He loved it so much that is all he wanted to play with!

Waiting patiently for Papa to finish putting together his shopping cart from Aunt Stie. Thought the food from Grammy would ease the pain of waiting. . .

He was so tired on Christmas Eve that by the time we got home all he wanted to do was sit in his chair and color on his easel, guess standing up took too much energy!

Ok so here is how the morning works in the Carman house. . . wake up, watch Dora, watch Diego, watch Dora, watch Diego, get the idea. The other morning he pulled out his little chair, found the M&M's that he had in there the night before, and watched an episode of Dora. I don't know what makes those shows so appealing to children but they aren't nearly as exciting for adults. Oh well, he is learning things so it can't be all that bad, the other day he answered Dora in spanish and totally blew my mom's mind.

His newest phrase has been "Look at me". I was making breakfast the other morning and I hear him say "look at me", I walk into the living room to find him perched on the coffee table just as proud of himself as he can be. I said good job, now get down!

He has been big into dressing himself, well at least trying. He is pretty good at putting his crocs on by himself but that is about it. The other day he wanted to do it himself so he picked out 2 different shoes, and then said "pants on head?" I had to put them on his head and he thought that was the silliest thing. How can they be so darn cute?

Merry Christmas!

Ok so it has been over a week since I have written anything, blame it on the craziness of the season! Anyways we went to the Children's Museum last week with our neighbors (thanks Grandma & Papa for the membership) and had a blast. They have a super cute set up for the Holidays and Brady loved it. You can bake in Mrs Claus's kitchen, ice fish, play on the igloo and all sorts of fun things. We rode the carousel this time too, I thought he wouldn't like it, he didn't last time but that is all he has talked about since we got back. We get to go back next week with Stie, so yeah for free carousel rides!

This was in a super cute area that has a little Ice Cream Shoppe, House and Tree House for the kids to play in. We are big into the kitchen and play food, so he loved it!

Brady and Aidan were fighting crime in the comic book section!

The new favorite place, riding the horsey

Peanut Butter Balls

Ok here are a couple updates from the Carman house. . .
I have been trying to do our Christmas cards so this morning Brady jumped up at the table and took the stuff and said "I do Christmas cards" then he acted like he was looking for addresses

We usually spend Monday nights at my mom's house (Josh works late) yesterday he wanted to put on Grammy's glasses and then he sat himself down in the box that holds his play food and watched an entire Dora in the box!

I just think he is cute in this picture. We bundled up the other day and played in the snow for about 10 minutes, it took longer to get dressed!

In keeping with my dad's tradition of making peanut butter balls, Brady helped me make them this year. When we were little this was one of the best traditions (probably not for my dad, much more labor intensive for the parent) we used to love throwing the balls into the chocolate and making my dad fish them out. This year the peanut butter got a little to smooshy so Brady didn't get to throw any but he liked mixing them together and then putting them on the tray.

Back to Normal. . .

This year I have to say I am most thankful that after a week my family is back to normal. Josh was down with a NASTY virus for almost 8 days including Thanksgiving. I quarantined him to our room and spent a majority of the time taking care of him, Brady and escaping to my moms (thanks mom!). Brady and I did Thanksgiving on our own with the help of all the family. We started the day at Grandma and Papaw's, then went to my grandparents (GG & GGpa's) and ended the night at my dads. Thanks to our neighbors for bringing Josh a plate! All things considered it was a great Thanksgiving and wonderful to spend time with everyone!

Brady and GG were having in depth conversations, he thought she was very funny!

We put up all our Christmas decorations on Saturday, Brady tried to be the Christmas tree but couldn't hold still enough. He loves our tree and plays with his nativity scene that GG got him last year.
We got to play in the first snow of the season on Sunday, not for long because it was very wet but he had been dying to go out all day long! After he threw a fit and I convinced him that crocs were not the best idea for playing in the snow, we got bundled up and went out for about 10 mins. He loved it and is ready for more snow!
